National Conference

Chemical Physics

The conference:
Chemical physics is a branch of science at the interface between physics and chemistry that includes structures and dynamics of a wide range of chemical systems and phenomena e.g. atomic collisions, structures and properties of molecules, nanomaterials, biological macromolecules, complex materials etc. The field is very rich in terms of techniques used, both experimental and theoretical. The National Conference on Chemical Physics (NCCP-2017) will provide a forum to the researchers working at the forefront of chemical physics to share and discuss their most exciting results, recent developments and challenges. Eminent professors/scientists, young researchers, research scholars and M.Sc. students interested in experimental and/or theoretical areas of chemical physics from different parts of the country are invited to participate in the conference. The conference aims to provide ample opportunity to the students and young researchers to interact with senior professors/scientists, which may lead to collaborations for cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in the field of chemical physics. The conference will include key-note and invited lectures as well as oral and poster presentations.

The University:
Assam University came into
existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989 (Established under an
Act of Parliament). It was established in 1994, since then the University is
steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning. The campus, situated in
Dargakona, about 20 kms from Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical
landscape in the North East. The campus in an area of 600 acres surrounded by
lakes and mountains provides an ideal environment for academic pursuit. Drawing
its 300 plus faculty from many disciplines, from all over the country, the
university sustains a multidisciplinary approach to higher education. The
University has sixteen schools on major disciplines. There are forty one

The City:
Silchar, the Headquarter of the
District of Cachar, is situated on the bank of Barak River and is about 343 km
from Guwahati in the southernmost part of Assam. The District is bounded on the
North by Barali and Jayantia hill ranges, on the South by the State Mizoram, on
the East by the State of Manipur and West by sister districts Hailakandi and
Karimganj of Assam. It is the secondlargest city of the Assam in terms of
population and municipal area.
How to reach:
The City is well connected by
Air, Rail and Road. There are daily direct flights from Kolkata and Guwahati to
Silchar. Nearest airport is located at Kumbhigram about 22 kilometres from
Silchar. Nearest and second nearest major railheads are Silchar and Badarpur
Jn., respectively.
